A lantern 12m high and 13m wide was constructed by Akira Takahashi to usher in the Lunar New Year in 1991. Costing S$6,000 to construct, it was displayed at the Melia at Scotts Hotel. Takahashi spent four hours a night for one month painting and constructing its parts and it took eleven men 8.5 hours to assemble it. |
