The Singapore Film Commission has submitted its first Oscar entry, Eric Khoo's 'Be With Me' for the foreign-language film category in 2005. It was produced by Khoo's Zhao Wei Films and shot on HD. It was later found that there was too much English spoken for the Academy to consider it a foreign language film.
