Data Info |
Researchers from NUS and the NUH have developed a biodegradable plastic that can be used to cover holes in the skull of patients operated on for head injuries. The mesh-like plastic allows bone tissues to grow in the mesh and will disintegrate once the bone is fully formed in about 24 months. Human trials started in 2002. |
