The Kopitiam Group of Companies broke the world record with the grilling of a 140m satay at 'Satay Street' next to the Lau Pa Sat. The satay was sponsored by Jumain Sataysfaction and Satay Power. Surveyors from the Singapore Land Authority came to confirm the length of satay. The event on 21 Jul 2007 was part of the Singapore Food Festival.
