The Pegasus is a new 155-mm howitzer weighing just 5.4 tons. It can manoeuvre over terrain at a speed of 12 kmh. It can also be easily transported by Chinook helicopters to any part of the battlefield, making it the world’s first heli-portable howitzer with a self-propelling capability.
The new weapon is jointly developed by the SAF, DSTA and ST Kinetics and released in 2005. |
