The first cabaret dances were held in the 1930s at New World Amusement Park in Kitchener Road. Dance girls were mostly local, as well as some from China, Thailand and the Philippines. Customers could engage in their services by purchasing dance coupons priced at one dollar for three dances. There was an entry charge to the cabaret and ordering drinks was also mandatory. |
