Singaporean author Tham Yew Chin - better known to her readers by her pen name You Jin, has written a total of 24 travelogues in Mandarin and sold more than a million copies of her works in China. Altogether, she has written 58 books - all in Chinese - the rest being novels, short stories and collections of articles for various newspapers in the region as a freelance columnist. The latter are mostly autobiographical vignettes of life. Her first book was A Glimpse Of Society, a collection of special features she had written for Nanyang Siang Pau and published in 1978. |
