Glen Goei was the first Singaporean actor to receive star billing at London’s West End. He starred as a transvestite Chinese diva-cum-communist spy in the hit musical, Madame Butterfly, from Apr 1988 to Oct 1989. Goei won the Laurence Olivier Best Newcomer nomination for his role. He went on to start London’s first and only Chinese theatre group, Mu-Lan Theatre Company. |
