Lee Ngoh Wah, an accomplished composer, conductor and Chinese orchestra conductor, was the first Singaporean in 1988 to receive scholarship awarded by Singapore Cultural Foundation and Rotary Club of Singapore, to pursue a course in Chinese Opera Conductor at the prestigious Central Conservatory of China.
