Goh Siew Geok, a premier opera performer and instructor, was the first Singaporean in 1988 to receive scholarships awarded by the Singapore Cultural Foundation and the Rotary Club of Singapore, to pursue a course in Chinese Opera at the prestigious Chinese Drama Institute in Beijing. Goh is currently with the TAS Theatre Company.
