Rediffusion, Singapore’s sole subscription radio broadcaster, has in 2005, secured a five-year licence to provide the world’s first Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) subscription service and operate its own DAB multiplex. By operating its own multiplex, Rediffusion would be able to broadcast on its own frequency and offer more channels. MediaCorp Radio got its first DAB licence in 1999 but it was for free-to-air services. |
