The first Girls’ Brigade Company was formed by Mrs Elsie Lyne, a Girls’ Life Brigade officer, when she came to Singapore in 1927 to teach at the Methodist Girls’ School. She initiated the first Singapore Company and in Jul 1928, the Company became formally registered with the GLB HQ in London.
