The Malay Cemetery, built in Kampong Glam in 1819, by Sultan Hussein Mohammed Shah and his followers, is the oldest Malay cemetery in Singapore. It was first called ‘Tombs of the Malayan Princes’, in JB Tassin’s map of 1836.
