Sungei Buloh Nature Park located at Neo Tiew Crescent was designated a wild bird reserve and nature park for mangrove flora and fauna in 1989. The 87-ha site is the first of its kind to be established in Singapore, and lies directly along the East Asian Flyway, a migratory route for birds. It was named Asean Heritage Park in 2003. Asean Heritage Parks are protected areas of high conservation importance preserving in total a complete spectrum of representative ecosystems of the Asean Region. |
