Singaporeans Charles Lim and Tan Wearn Haw became the first sailors to be selected for the America’s Cup, dubbed as the world’s most prestigious regatta, which will be held in Valencia, Spain, in 2007. The two sailors were part of the 17-man China Team, the first Chinese challenge in the history of the America’s Cup. Lim and Tan won a 470 bronze at the 1998 Asian Games.
