In 2004, Kendrick Lee was the first Singaporean to win the US Open Championships’ (1-star) men’s singles title, and the youngest male player worldwide to do so, at 20. He was also the first Singapore-born to win an International Badminton Federation event when he took the men’s singles crown at the 2004 Thailand Asian Satellite (A Grade) tournament. He added the men’s singles and men’s doubles (with Ronald Susilo) titles to his belt at the Cheers Badminton Nationals in 2005. |
