Annabel Pennefather was the first woman to be named president of the Singapore Hockey Federation in 1981 and the first woman Olympic Chef de Mission when she led the Singapore athletes to Athens in 2004. She was also the first Singaporean woman to join the International Olympic Council in 2005.
