Valerie Teo won the girls’ singles event in the World Youth Bowling Championships in Berlin, Germany in 2006, making her the first Singaporean with that title. She also became the first female Singaporean bowler to win a gold medal in the Asian Games in 2006, along with Michelle Kwang.
