TR Sundaresan played the mridungum (Indian drums) for 42 hr non-stop at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society auditorium on 1-2 May 2005, beating the previous world record of 36 hr. During the 42-hr duration, Sundaresan was only able to take a 15-min break every eight hours. Each piece of music had to last at least two minutes and pauses had to be no more than 30 seconds between tunes. |
