Singapore’s national culinary team out-cooked nine other countries to become Culinary World Masters at the Salon Culinaire Mondial. Held every six years, it is one of the most highly regarded cooking competitions. Only 10 of the world’s top teams were invited to compete for the Culinary World Masters title in Nov 2005 in Basle, Switzerland. Singapore’s seven-member team won a gold medal in the cold food category and a silver in the warm food category. The chefs were Edward Voon, Jasmine Ng, Ivan Yeo, Nicole Wong, Yen Koh, Ron Ng and Tan Lai Hong. |
