Four NUS researchers took part in the world’s largest marine biodiversity expedition - Santo 2006 - in Sep 2006. Eighty marine specialists from 22 countries spent six weeks scouring the seabeds off Santo in Vanuatu in the South Pacific. It resulted in 650 species of crabs being unearthed and at least 10 new species discovered. The Singaporeans were Prof Peter Ng, Dr Tan Heok Hui, Dr Tan Swee Hee and Jose Christopher Mendoza. |
