Dr William Tan set a new world record as the first person to continuously marathon on wheels for 48 hr. He accomplished it on 21-23 Oct 2005 at ITE College East. Dr Tan, medical doctor and an accomplished sportsman, contracted polio at the age of two and was paralysed waist down. He was the first Singaporean to complete a marathon in a wheelchair in 1980.
