In the Singapore leg of the F1 in Schools competition on 26 July 2006, the car built by the Alpha Matrix team of Tampines Secondary School clocked 1.150 sec over a distance of 20m. It also won the best engineered car award. The school was the overall champion for 2005 when the competition started, as well as for 2006.
F1 in Schools is an international competition opened to secondary schools, to design and manufacture CO2-powered model racing cars. The car should have a minimum weight of 55 grams.
