Partially-disabled Singapore mountaineer David Lim became the first Singaporean to climb the world´s highest volcano, Ojos del Salado in Chile, solo-style without external aids such as guides, high-altitude porters or fixed ropes. He climbed the 6,883-m mountain on 20 Jan 2005.
