In conjunction with the Singapore Food Festival, Chinatown Business Association with the help of over 100 chefs built Singapore's tallest ice-kachang at Smith Street on 22 July 2006. It reached 3m. When the work started, the sun was still shining and the shaved ice was fast melting. After working furiously for over an hour and using about 240 bags of ice, the ice-kachang finally came into shape.
