Data Info |
The history of the NCC can be traced back to the formation of the first Army Cadet Corps in Raffles Institution on 15 May 1901. A second unit was formed in St Joseph's Institution the next year. The aim in those early years was to prepare students for the Singapore Volunteer Corps (SVC), a military reserve for the Straits Settlements. The NCC continued to grow by leaps and bounds throughout the 1930s and 40s, and by 1949, there were also the Sea Cadet Corps and Air Training Corps. |
