Data Info The recipient of The HSBC Youth Excellence Award 2004, Clare is also the youngest recipient in year 2003 at the Singapore National Arts Council Scholarship and Bursary Ceremony; Clare received the Gifted Young Musicians Bursary. She began studying the piano at age six. At age 8, she caught the attention of world-renowned master pianist Tedd Joselson and was under his tutelage for 2 and a half years before she moved to New York.
In May 2003, Clare made Singapore proud by being the youngest Singaporean ever to be accepted and also awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, USA. Competing among 312 musicians from all over the world, she is one of only 5 pianists who were awarded scholarship from The Juilliard School.
She is now a student of International performer and pedagogue Ms Victoria Mushkatkol at The Juilliard School, Pre-College Division. She also studied under Mr. Albert Tiu in the summer during her stay in Singapore.
At the age of nine She gave her debut solo recital and her album “Journey Through Music with Clare” was released the same day.
