Maung Thu Ya Pyine, 15, from Yuhua Secondary School emerged as the champion of the Singapore National Monopoly Competition on 18 Apr 2004 at Tampines Mall using the version with Singapore street names and properties. Organised by Hasbro Singapore, it was also Singapore’s largest ever Monopoly board measuring 9m x 9m. Maung walked away with S$8,000 in cash and the chance to represent Singapore in the world championship. |
