On 17 Jan 2005, David Lim became the first Singaporean disabled solo climber to attempt the Volcan del Viento peak measuring 6,120m, without the aid of guides, high altitude porters or fixed ropes. Lim, who is partially disabled since 1998 from Guillain-Barre Syndrome is a member of the Singapore Mountaineering Federation and the third person in the world to climb the peak from Argentina. |
