Longest recycled bottle chain - Editorial

 This event was part of Recycling Day 2005 which was jointly organized by the National Environment Agency. The students spent about 3 weeks collecting the bottles and preparing them for the event. Thankfully, the residents living near the school graciously contributed whatever plastic bottles they had when the students went round for collection. More than 900 students played a part in forming this chain of plastic bottles.

 Looking at the completed chain of plastic bottles made them more aware of the need to recycle, as they could see just how many plastic bottles would have been discarded into the rubbish bin had they not been collected for this event.
